Data Transfer System (DTS)

Data Transfer System (DTS)

Description
Features

The DTS is a cockpit-mounted unit providing ease of access and operation, for both the pilot and maintenance personnel. It uses a high performance memory management unit, controlled by a powerful CPU. The unit features a dual slot CF Flash memory card receptacles and provides a range of communication capabilities, including MIL-STD-1553 (Remote Terminal and Bus Monitor), Ethernet 10 BaseT and optional RS-422 and ARINC-429 interfaces.

Using the commercially available and popular CF standard enables the use of readily available ground based equipment for mission data preparation and post mission data storage. The DTS's Flash memory cards provide a low power consumption, light weight solution for applications requiring a reliable data transfer function, including the transfer of large amount of data. These features are of importance in applications using maps and aerial photos.

The versatile DTS can be used as a stand alone data loader/recorder or as part of a more complex system. It handles pre-flight mission data prepared on a ground based Mission Planning and Debriefing Station. It also provides in-flight recording of mission parameters, followed by post-mission debriefing.
